Discontinued Ford Cars
If you have been shopping for a new Ford car you may have noticed a decrease in selection at some Ford dealerships. Although our Sam Pack Ford dealership has well over one hundred new Ford cars currently in stock, many of the new models you have come to expect at dealership are being discontinued.
Ford Motor Company is slowly discontinuing most of the car models in its 2019 lineup. So far the Ford Focus, Taurus, and C-Max hybrid have been dropped from production. The Ford Fiesta and Fusion will also be discontinued soon leaving the Mustang as the only choice for an every-day driver Ford car segment.
According to automotive trend experts, fewer consumers are shopping for new cars, Instead they are seeking the versatility and off-road capability of new utility vehicles. To stay in pace with consumer demand, Ford is shifting its focus (no pun intended) to developing new crossovers, SUVs and expansion of the Ford truck lineup. The company anticipates that by 2020 almost 90 percent of the Ford portfolio for North America will be trucks, utility and commercial vehicles.
While most Ford dealerships will see a slow decrease in Ford car inventory, used Ford cars will remain available for quite some time. The number of Ford cars to hit the used vehicle market is expected to increase as rental car agencies and Ford lease customers trade in models that are phased out of production.
