The Ford Motor Company is investing $4.5 billion and introducing 13 new electric vehicles globally in the next five years. New vehicles currently in development include the Ford F-150 Hybrid, Mustang Hybrid, Transit Custom plug-in hybrid, self-driving hybrid, and fully electric small SUV with a projected EPA-estimated range of at least 300 miles. Recently Ford revealed a new Police Responder Hybrid Sedan which is expected to save cities thousands of dollars in fuel costs.
With more and more drivers interested in buying and electric car, Ford predicts the auto industry will offer customers more hybrid and fully electric vehicles than gasoline-powered vehicles within the next 15 years. Ford is continually making efforts to reduce costs on batteries and motors for hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles. Ford is also committed to delivering improved performance found on electric vehicles such as on the new F-150 Hybrid with powerful towing and payload capacity.

New improvements in wireless technology are also being made on Ford electric cars in the United States and Europe. Ford is working to make recharging fully electric and hybrid vehicles as easy as pulling into a parking spot. Other innovations such as FordPass allow drivers to quickly find charging stations.
