New advancements in vehicle entertainment are coming to new Ford cars, trucks and SUVs. As trends in streaming services change, so will entertainment and communication features on all new vehicles. Currently one in three U.S. consumers currently listen to streaming music. More and more streaming options are available for other entertainment sources as well.
New Ford models will soon be able to stream live cable or satellite television via SlingPlayer and new Wi-Fi hotspot equipped models will allow up to 10 devices at once to be utilized up to 50 feet away from the vehicle. Some new models will have an available dual-headrest rear seat entertainment system for a completely new in-vehicle video experience. These new systems further compliment innovative technology such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and SiriusXM radio that are available now or will be soon, depending on model.
New Ford innovations include the available Wi-Fi hotspot and dual headrest rear seat entertainment system on the new Ford Expedition, coming this fall. The all new Ford EcoSport available early next year will offer stream-friendly technology including Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™ and SiriusXM radio with multiple USB ports and power outlets that allow customers to connect and change devices to listen or watch content on-demand.
“Increasingly, our on-the-go customers are streaming music and television to their personal devices,” said Michael O’Brien, Ford SUV Group Marketing manager. “We’re meeting this demand in our biggest and smallest SUVs.”
