The new Ford Mustang, Focus and F-Series truck were all winners of the Hottest Vehicle Awards at the SEMA show earlier this month. The awards presented at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, recognize the most popular vehicles with aftermarket upgrades. Although the triple award sweep by Ford is impressive, it is also the second year in a row that Ford has won three titles at the SEMA event, something no other auto manufacturer has accomplished.
“We are honored to take home three SEMA hottest vehicle awards for the second straight year,” says Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance. “Embracing the aftermarket industry is something we relish, and – with Mustang, Focus and F-Series being back-to-back winners – it appears the aftermarket appreciates our products as well.”
Ford had the largest OEM presence at the 2016 SEMA show, displaying more than 50 vehicles. New models showcased by Ford included a collection of custom-built vehicles. Ford also provided the Ford Out Front performance demonstration track as one of the lead attractions of the show.
Ford’s Hottest Vehicle Winners:
The Ford Mustang won its fifth consecutive SEMA award this year. The popularity of the Mustang with the customization market is unlike that of muscle cars in the same class. The Ford Focus previously gained recognition for the ST-performance model and won last year’s Sport-Compact title. This year the new Ford Focus RS was recognized as the Hottest Hatch of the show. The Ford F-Series truck has the longest history of “Hottest” vehicle titles collected at the SEMA show having won six times out of seven total competitions.
Ford continues to be a favorite among aftermarket enthusiasts as a leader in vehicle variety and model selection. With one of the largest lineups of coupes, sedans, hatchbacks, SUVS, crossovers, vans and trucks, Ford offers vehicles for every purpose.
