A Dallas Ford Driver’s Pothole Survival Guide

As the rainy spring season comes to an end potholes will be more prevalent than ever before on Dallas area roads. The Ford Motor Company has provided a helpful pothole survival guide in their online My Ford Magazine. The guide suggests watching out for and avoiding puddles that could be hiding deep potholes. It also recommends traveling at slower speeds and allowing more distance between your car and the one in front of you to allow time to spot damaged asphalt in the distance. Although a natural reaction to hitting a pothole is to slam on the brakes, Ford warns against this as it could cause more damage to your car and tires. Drivers are also advised to have tire pressure and wheel alignment checked after any encounters with potholes or other jarring road conditions.
