Van-based motorhomes are expected to become the fastest-growing segment in the motorhome industry for 2017. Ford Paseo and Fuse motorhomes are some of the newest Winnebago vehicles built on the Ford platform. Although the Ford Transit was only introduced to North America in 2017, it has already evolved into a variety of small, medium and large van or wagon models. This remarkably versatile Ford lineup includes Transit Connect, Transit Cargo Van or Transit Wagon and is being employed for business, cargo and family transportation.
New Ford Transit based RVs including the Fuse and Winnebago Paseo are among the fastest growing motorhomes available on the market. Ford has been in the RV business for decades and has a long history with Winnebago and other motorhome manufacturers. Now, new Ford Transit based RVs including the Fuse and Winnebago Paseo are among the fastest growing motorhomes available on the market.
The Ford Fuse is built on a dual-rear-wheel drive Transit van cutaway chassis and is a full-feature 24 foot Class C motorhome with a kitchen, bath and slide out sleeping area. The Ford Paseo Class B motorhome features a high-roof, extended length, full bath, kitchen with refrigerator and sleeping area. New Ford RVs are offered with gas, diesel and CNG/propane gaseous prep options, as well as three available roof heights, three overall lengths and two wheelbases. Winnebago currently has more than 130 dealers offering Transit-based motorhomes across the United States and Canada.
“Our customers have responded incredibly well to the new Transit platform,” said Russ Garfin, Winnebago product manager. “They love the driveability and the smooth ride, and the feedback on both of the engines we use – the EcoBoost® gas and five-cylinder diesel – has been great.”
